RIDINGABIKE

Sustrans, the charity that works on projects to encourage more walking and cycling.  Much of the National Cycle Network (NCN) is on traffic free or quite roads.

Two NCN routes pass through St Neots.  NCN 51 from Oxford to Harwich visiting Bedford, St Neots, Grafham Water, Cambridge and further east.

The new cycle bridge between Eaton Socon and Eynesbury will receive a Sustrans grant of £700K.

Recently the local Sustrans rangers challenged the people of St Neots to join them in a guided cycle ride to Bedford.  This 26 mile event was on Sunday 14th June and a good number dusted off their bikes and made the trip.  Many had participated in the four warm up rides as well.

All of this has lead to the rangers agreeing organise further regular guided rides on Sunday mornings on a monthly basis.  Likely to be the 3rd Sunday of each month.

Riders of all ages are welcome.  Children must accompanied by an adult.  Pace will be easy and no one will be left behind.  Cycling is great for improving fitness, meeting new friends and seeing the countryside.

All the rides will start @ 10:30 from outside the Ambiance Café at the Riverside Park car park. There’s no charge for participating but there will be opportunity to contribute to Sustrans.

The Justgiving website makes it easy to organise sponsors and their donations.
