St Neots Connect2 Project

There are 79 Connect2 schemes across the UK. All set to receive grant funding from the Sustrans Big Lottery Fund.

The St Neots project includes top quality links to the now open pedestrian and cycle “Willow Bridge” over the Great Ouse. The scheme now connects the communities of Eaton Socon and Eynesbury, and makes the journey to schools in the area a lot easier for many pupils.

Construction work was completed on time and on budget. Public gained access to the main Willow Bridge on Friday 2nd September 2011.

Initially a Memorandum of Understanding was agreed between Sustrans, Cambridgeshire CC and Huntingdonshire DC. This defined respective roles: Sustrans to administer the £700,000 allocated to St Neots, but the County Council were responsible for delivering schemes.
